Selling clothes in Aus

So I've tried marketplace, depop and vestiaire. It's so hard to resell decent clothes, often designer with the cost of fees and shipping here. Does anyone have any tips or somewhere else I'm missing. I've heard eBay is a complete ballache so I'm not really interested in trying there. I'm not overpricing, we're talking maybe 10% of the retail cost.

Where are you and how much do you have to sell?

If you are in ACT or the Southern Highlands, try https://materialpleasures.com.au/

If you are elsewhere, I am sure there are shops that have a similar business model. I’m just not sure what to call it - consignment shop, maybe?

I was going to suggest them too. Or maybe Op Shop Emporium in Canberra.

Nope. The second hand clothes market does not seem as big a thing- mainly I see it on Facebook more than anything- depending on the brand. Facebook marketplace gets you nowhere, and neither does eBay.

Interesting I'm in Sydney. I could post to Canberra I suppose but it costs a fortune even domestically.

Here are a few similar Sydney based options:

Have you tried any of these?

Alternatively, you could always drive to Canberra for a weekend and check out Material Pleasures yourself. But that would probably cost more than you would make! 🤣

Ugh spent so long doing a form on blue spinach, rejected then the fees for two other sites were 30-40% commission. I'm tempted to just keep the items now. It's not heaps. 3 designer bags (Mulberry so not as in demand as say Gucci or Chanel) and some clothes (miss range Maje, Stella McCartney and Sezane).

ReLuv are pretty good, if you're willing to post the stuff to them

Tomlettegregg · 09/02/2024 20:13

I think I've I'm paying some third party 70% commission I may as well sell my own stuff cheaper. What about jewellery? There's some nice decorative stuff. Sell your gold/silver offered about $120 but sure it worth a little bit more. Plus stuff like as semi previous stones and pearls.

Hey there, I am the maker of Kid’s and Bub’s Wear and I have been trying to sell them for some time now on facebook marketplace and other websites without any success. I’m a very good sewer and have had lots of likes on my ads. But that is all I seem to get. My clothes are very reasonable in price as well but I don’t seem to be able to sell them. Can you please suggest what I can do.

didysew · 02/05/2024 07:34

I just posted here a minute ago and when I went to add some photos of my Kid’s and Bub’sWear that I make, they wouldn’t come up
