Food shop Cairns

Hi all. We will be arriving at Cairns Airport at 17.30 on Christmas eve,picking up a car then driving to Port Douglas. Can anyone tell me if there are any shops open late to get a food shop. I've had a good look online but everywhere seems to shut at 18.00. It's not a good flight but was all we could get.

Recheck when the shops have their Christmas opening hours. Most major supermarkets stay open till midnight Christmas Eve. Appreciate it’s also a Sunday. There is a small supermarket 383 Sheridan Street, just south of airport (2 minute backtrack) which I have found is consistently open late on awkward days like Sundays and public holidays. Otherwise, check if Coles at Clifton Village is open late Christmas Eve- they should release Christmas trading hours shortly. It’s on the Captain Cook highway to Port Douglas and is right on highway.
