Citizenship and passport photos

I was wondering if someone could answer this as it would be super helpful

We’re in process of doing citizen by descent to end up with Aus passports

The photos need to be taken separately to U.K. photo booth so they are quite £ for multiple dc

Do the citizen photos that get taken for the 1195 form end up as passport photos?

Basically is it just the one set for citizen certificate and passport and same photo standards?

Thanks

Whilst I don't know the answer, I have the photos taken for our family Australian passports done in the local photo shop. I just take the information about what's required in and the man in there just adjusts how he takes the photos accordingly.

It's not more expensive. And I don't live in a cosmopolitan place or anything.

They are £25 each in Snappy Snaps so 2 each x 3 dc is £150

How much were yours?

I don’t mind too much if they end up in the passports but then again if yours were much less maybe I should look
around

Gosh, I don't recall having to take a photo for the citizenship by descent application! That was around 15 years ago though.

But the passport application is totally separate so you would probably be better off taking a new photo at that time.

Do be aware that the photo requirements are different to UK so the standard Photo Booth photos won't be suitable. Better off going to a photo shop who will change the photo sizing to suit.

About £10 I think. Whatever they were they were the same as the UK passport ones. I'd definitely ask around.

This is the citizenship form. I’m pretty sure it’s needed to get the passports

If I have that wrong pls let me know as the online version is the longest thing I’ve encountered ;

Yes, I think they are separate too.

Won't you just be applying for the passport with the certificate once you have the certificate?

MichelinStarry · 16/08/2023 12:48

I’m hoping the two photos each which are countersigned that you send off with the citizen form end up used in the passports

I’m googling for cheaper pics at photo shops but inundated with online uploads

If anyone has a name of a place that is cheaper than £25 each it’d be much appreciated!

We’re in London
