How do I make drinking straws black?

Need to make drinking straws black for an art project for dd's school. Doesn't have to be paint, but must be robust enough to stand being attached to other surfaces and being handled.

Any tips?

Ikea sell black straws.

buy them, or ask in a pub, I'm sure they'd happily give you a few.

Nick some from Wetherspoons.

TBH it hadn't occurred to me to buy black straws. That would be the ideal solution. Trouble is, there isn't time to buy from Ebay, and I'm not going to Ikea for a packet of straws!

Pub, ask or steal some. You could have a few drinks instead and keep your own ones!

I need about 60!

Go in a pub and ask if you can buy some. Try wetherspoons and ask if you could have some for a donation to their clic Seargeant charity box - if you talk to the manager and it's a one off, they might go for it.
