Where can I buy decent fabric for garment sewing?

I really want to sew more of our clothes, but I'm struggling to find anywhere (preferably online, but don't mind going to London or anywhere in Sussex) where I can buy nice garment fabrics.

I'm thinking particularly of fine cotton (vaguely have trip to Liberty planned to solve this one), stretch cotton/jersey stuff for things like wrap dresses, and fine stretch cotton for t-shirts.

Any recommendations much appreciated!

Hi there, my friend has an on-line shop M is for Make She sells the most gorgeous fabrics and patterns and has a blog where you can see the results of her work. She is lovely and very kind and helpful if you need some help. She is based in Sussex too if you want to get in touch.

I recommend Dots n Stripes and Emma One Sock.

Goldhawk Road/Shepherds Bush market in London - oodles of fabric shops covering pretty much everything there.

Amy Butler fabric is nice. They have it in JL, or you can buy from various online places.
Ebay is actually good for some things.... though very expensive for yardage.

Ooh., thanks for all the recommendations! Will check out some of those sites, and make sure to visit fabric shops next time I'm in Londinium.
