Fabric shops in Brighton?

We're off to Brighton this weekend to visit some friends, and I'm hoping to find time to visit a fabric shop to buy some material for my dd next dress. For anyone in the know out there, where would you go? Am thinking cool yet cheap....
Thanks!

is C and H Fabrics still going, on Western Road ?

C&H is expensive. There is a shop, can't remember exactly what it is called (will check tomorrow) opposite Argos which is quite reasonable and very funky.

There used to be a load of fabric shops in the North Laines as well.

Fabricland on Western Road is fabulous and very reasonable. Basically walk past M&S, New Look etc and it's a bit further up on the left.

There is a fantastic fabric shop on Gardner Street; lots of interesting stuff all crammed together. Michelle Le Maitre, round the corner on North Road is good for more modern stuff, but not open very often.
