What is BS984?

The wool I've got says 50g in accordance with BS984 and I don't know what that means. I'd like a length cos I need 7 balls of 50g at 130m and I've got 6 balls of this stuff but I have no idea what the length of it is.

British standards regulation for assessing the net of mass of knitting yarn.So it is 50g according to their method of weighing. It could be of any length.
