Summer activities for children

As summer keeps promising arrive, I thought I'd start this thread to see if we could share some ideas for outdoor activities that will keep the DC away from the TV.

Here's mine......

Plan a treasure hunt with clues leading to the location of the next clue.

Make the clues easy to identify with brightly coloured paper, using either pictures or words depending on how old the children are

The final clue would lead to the treasure i.e. sweets, cakes, teddy bears etc

I look forward to hearing your ideas.

I took out a baby bath with 2 inches of water out on tot he front.

For an hour we have a dozen kids having fun...

These loveyl neighbourhood kids also loved - drawing 'grfitting' al over our front path with chalks, making nests with the blossom that have fallen of the tree.... helping me plant plants..... riding bikes....'

Love treasure hunt idea. Might try that!

More ideas!!

It's amazing what simple things will keep kids entertained isn't it Mumblecrumble . Another idea is to spend some time exploring the garden with the children and get them to draw pictures of who or what they see - educational and fun!

I throw mine out of the back door. They play.

Perhaps not quite what you had in mind.
