Think these are lovely but too expensive and dont get me started on this one Which got me to wondering... just how hard can they be to make?!

I have access to a sewing machine and can use it for not straightforward sewing. Can 'do' straightforward patterns.

Anyone got any wise words?

How much??? thats madness.

Looks very simple to make and you can buy a pattern to make one:

Hope this helps

I made I tee-pee myself for my son last year after seeing a very expensive one on the net. It cost me 2 old tent poles, an Ikea trow, a few meters of ramdom cream fabric plus some toggles and ribbon from my stash.
It was so worth the time just to see my little boys face plus it was so much nicer to say 'I made that' (rather then 'it cost me alot')

How beautiful is that! I reckon you could easily make your own pattern; buy a couple of hula hoops and use an old sheet and alot of pins. Good Luck!

They are just lovely, hours of fun.

I think if you look at my pictures, I have put on a picture of the tee-pee tent I made last year.
It was made with out a pattern just simple line sewing, I dont think that the hanging tent would be to harder to put together (plus if want you could buy a pattern)

Though I can never wait for the post man to bring the patterns so it would be pins a hula hoop and a sheet for me.

Good luck

I'm impatient too but am going to be forced to wait. dC2 due on Tuesday so crafty things will have to go on the back burner. Think I will buy the pattern and aim to have it made by Xmas!

Sounds like good plan, good luck.... with "tuesday" and the tent

Really recommend this book for some lovely patterns. I made a teep last year for DD. She also has a hanging pattern made with a hula hoop, as well as lots of lovely other ideas, that I will never get round to!
