In my attempt to try not to leave all my own personal xmas cards to the very last minute, I want to plan ahead this year. I am trying to sort out all my craft clutter ATM and not getting a chance for much crafting after from on here of course!

One thing I have been considering is investing in some xmas dies for my sizzix. OOOO,,,but which ones should I buy....hhhmmmm!

Are you all thinking xmas now? What have you all got planned? It has been very quiet on here recently, you must all be busy making cards!

Oh Dingle....Sizzix talk....shhhh Im whispering now....can you hear me??? Ive ordered the large santa's head today to go with the snowman I bought a couple of months ago. Im so tempted to buy the sizzlits christmas selection too but DH will go mad if I buy any more crafting B&P's

I really need to have a good sort out of all my crafting "junk" and get myself more organised...I spend more time looking for stuff than I should!!!

Im trying to think of simple designs that wont take so long and that can be made quickly....but Im not having much sucess

I wish I could get into stamping but I really do not have much sucess when I attempt to stamp anything...I don't think my heart is in it because I actually prefer to be making stuff rather than just stamping and colouring in.

Anyone got any quick christmas card ideas??

I was going to try embossing star shapes into a Xmas tree design. I also have sequin/confetti type little silver reindeers & green Xmas trees which I was thinking of using in a simple grid pattern.
I haven't got round to actually making anything yet though ! Weather is too sunny today !

My daughter made some lovely cards last year by layering torn strips of paper inside an aperture card so it looked like a landscape. She then added some glitter in the right places to look like snow and one or two little confetti trees and stars.

Whizzz · 07/08/2005 13:28

That sounds lovely Anorak! A talented girl

Dingle · 07/08/2005 13:41

My main design for xmas 2003 was handcut snowmen with felt scarves, hats and twiggy arms. I put them on a backing of layered white card for a landscape effect. I though I would try something similar again this year but try layers of torn card, paper, vellum to creat a softer effect. My original card was quite bold and very popular for kiddies. I loves making them though, decorating them with glitter glues and sequins!

OK - despite the sun beating down, I've done a proto-type ! I have put it in the 'Shhh Christmas' folder in the Gallery.

Nothing is stuck down yet as i am still trying to decide if I like it, or if it looks a bit plain.
Let me know what you think - does it need another colour on there ??

my favourite was the one I did when ds1 was 1 and liked lift the flap books. I did a shiny square of card with ribbon tied on to look like a present. I taped it along the top with double-sided sticky tape. When you lifted it up there was a gift inside.

What is the Shhh Christmas gallery?

Whizzz · 07/08/2005 15:56

Gallery link is here

fisil · 07/08/2005 16:04

Jayzmummy

Where do you get your backing papers from, I love the let it snow one. Have been trying to get a stamp but haven't found one yet

jayzmummy · 23/08/2005 11:08

I print them off using my printer

Dingle · 23/08/2005 11:21

Hi there! I print a lot of mine off too. That way you get exactly what you want. I have also found some background on various sites that you can download.

I must get around to downloading a few more fonts too at some stage.
