This is a real long shot - discontinued Sirdar yarn

Hello knitters

I am in the middle of knitting a little cardie for the impending DC and I am running out of wool. I have had the stuff for about 15 years and, of course, it's been discontinued. The wool in question is Sirdar Snuggly Aran, which they don't make any more. There is no obvious code for the colour either, which doesn't help, but it's a baby pink. The code on the paper wrap is 084212 032 - not sure which bit of that might represent colour.

If anyone happens to have a ball of this wool lying around I will be utterly amazed, but also eternally grateful if I could arrange to buy it.

BUMP (I do realise how unlikely this is!)

Have you tried ebay? I've managed to get discontinued yarn from there before.

I have thanks. There's a dark blue one on there but not the colour I need. Think I'm either going to have to start over with a different wool or have a funky two-tone back...

Don't give up. It may mean ringing round wool shops though, the type that have been around since God's dog was a pup. Is their replacement a close match?- get someone to send you a sample.

Are you a member on Ravelry? They have a UK Classifieds group that you can post an ISO on. It's a whole community of knitters, etc. so you might be lucky

Try charity shops too. I often get odd balls of yarn that hasn't been around since the 80's!
