I'm thinking of investing in one (seen some cheap on ebay) - does anyone have any views on them? Are they worth the money? Are they too bright for the sitting room? I do a lot of needlepoint and patchwork, so colour matching is vital, but I don't want to lose my cosy atmosphere and I don't want a lamp that looks too modern. Table or floor standing better? Is the height adjustable one ok - as the cheaper floor standing one looks too tall and I want to be able to adjust the height.
