I recently dejunked the spare room with the intention of turning it into a playroom for the dses. I'm planning on painting it a zingy blue and to make it a little less boring I thought I might paint a mural of cornwall .
I really don't know where to start though!! What paint should I use? Where do I start?? Any tips/ suggestions please

I have done quite a few but I am not an artist so have stuck to simple 'iconic' type images. I have Che on my stair wall and had Audrey in my living room for a while. I had a camoflauge peace sign in the kids's room and now they have a superman sign.

Because I cant draw

I have always used ordinary emulsion. Marker pens are good for definition.

I would love to do another one but have run out of walls.

Thanks! I can't really draw either and I have ADD so we'll have to see. Might be gorgeous, might be rubbish and unfinished !!

You can use an overhead projector to trace an outline on the wall. Its dead easy if you find the the right image. I borrowed a projector from work.

If you are not a brilliant artist its easy to copy or do something childlike/cartoony.

If it goes wrong, remember its only paint and you can go over it and start again.

I did some winnie the pooh characters for my dd1s nursery. They're about 2 ft high each. I borrowed a projector from work, drew them on in pencil and then painted with normal emulsion paint. I got the little tester pots for about £1 each. They are still there 6 years later, although DD2 is now in that room and I am dreading the day she doesnt want them anymore!!
