Little girl's old fashioned smock pattern?

I have been searching for a dress pattern for DD (4yrs)as I have lots of lovely fabric ends to use.
I want an old fashioned smock type dress, (but not actual smocking). Sort of wide with an empire line and puff sleeves ifswim.

A bit like this one but doesn't have to be exact.

I can't seem to find one- I don't want anything too complicated or I will get bored before I finish them!

Draw around a dress she currently has, take a paper pattern from it. Thats what I'd do. Use measurements and gather ratio for the puffed sleeves.

I was taught hand-smocking years ago - would struggle to do it now, though!

Have a look at the patterns here - although they are smocked, there will be a bodice front without as you have to know how much to contract it.

I love smocking, and wish there was a little girl for me to smock for

Thanks, I think I am being misleading calling it a smock, I mean like an old fashioned farmers smock- high yoke and gathered from there, with maybe short puff sleeves.

Melted, I could do that, but I always struggle with sizing up, (the only similar one she has is much too small) and especially with sleeves. I am not talented. Or patient.

I've got some Golden Hands Magazines - I'll have a look if there's a 70's pattern
