Getting a subscription for a gift

It's definitely nothing I've seen in the shops that's for sure - any ideas?

I should probably mention, I love textiles - crochet / sewing and stuff. Not beading or card-making or anything...

Yes - found one at the NEC this weekend, but normally £5.50 a go, I got for £1 each. All different crafts but mainly crochet, sewing type stuff, lovely vintage / shabby chic feel to it, expensive but about 40 projects an issue! Is called:

Simply Handmade

I've never seen it in the shops but type that and magazine into google and it will come up.

Also there is Making Gifts again sewing / woodwork type stuff but not that great. Available craft shops i think.

DoCrafts Creativity - mainly cards/ scrapbooking I think

Crafts Beautiful - not too bad but not a patch on number one above

I've had a few issues of Sew Hip (sewhip.co.uk). It has lots of different projects from clothes, to toys, bags and cushions. They have a lot of articles on fabric designers and new new lines etc.

Selvedge for textiles - probably wouldn't call it 'craft' though.

moocowme - its really lovely, you can also buy quite a cheap subscription to an online version, again really good.

overmydeadbody · 05/04/2010 12:01

off to google...

I have looked through sinmply handmade before and really liked it.

BirdyArms · 06/04/2010 10:37

Selvedge is beautiful but I think it's expensive for the number of articles it contains. Worth buying once to look at all the ads for beautiful things.

Simply Handmade is really good and you can order digitally.
