Can anyone point me to some sites where I could get/buy knittern patterns for a toddler's cardi (something stripy maybe). Something fairly basic as I haven't knitted for years.

Many thanks

www.ravelry.com.

Or if you want to buy a book, I like the Debbie Bliss baby/toddler ones. She does beginner patterns that should be fairly straightforward.

thanks chaps. TO be honest I don't get a lot of time, just a couple of hours in the evening but I think it might help calm me down! And I'd like a nice cardi for my DD before she gets to an age where she shuns them.

I'm with borntofolk: Debbie Bliss books are great, and very lovely - modern rather than old fashioned frilly stuff. She does a beginners book which is really well laid out and got me back into knitting. Nothing stripey in there, but I took one of the basic cardi patterns in there and just alternated red and white every 4 rows and voila!
