Need help with making animal costume by Friday...

I've just found out that it's Wild Animal Mufti for DD1 and 2 age 7 and 9 on Friday and would love some help with finding a pattern / sharing ideas about how to make something - easy.

I have a sewing machine - brand new for Christmas and it's not had many outings (had never sewed before then) but I wonder, how hard can it be to make a tail and other bits?

I have a local craft shop where I think I can get animal print fabric.

DD1 would like to be a cat (it'll have to be a wild cat - but is likely to be black aanyway) - think we have black leggings, cardi, top - so that should be ok - but need tail and ears perhaps?

DD2 would like to be a panda. Again might be black and white clothes - but does anyone have any easy to make ideas? I've been googling but am making finding costumes for sale sites!

You could sew a kind of tabard style with animal print fabric that would look quite good and would be easy to sew up on your machine. Tehn just get a couple of headbands and fix card board wild cat ears to it. You could make the long tails by rolling up some of the same fabric and stitching at the ends and pinning onto the tabard. They could then just wear black leggings underneath. For extra effect, you could make matching fabric cuffs for the ankles to velcro over their shoes and hand mits to match!

Panda woudl be the same but rounded ears and different colour paws, and then face makeup to finish.

Get lots of black fake fur and some white and you should be able to do them both.
