How do I transfer print to fabric?

I have had a look at a few websites, and have tried to buy this heat transfer tool, but they won't send it to the UK, it was recommended on this website. I've had a look at transfer papers for printers, but I don't want to transfer anything but the ink, i.e. I don't really want a shine or any rubbery finish iyswim.
I can't print directly on to the fabric because the fabric I want to print on to is too thick.
Any ideas?
tia

You can image transfer solution(a cream in a tube). I can't remember how you do it but it's another option for you to look at.

Thanks, if it's the same stuff I've used before, it's called imagemaker and it's like a glue, so leaves a new rubbery surface, not just the colour.
I'm at a bit of a loss.

What about something like this? Saw it used on a craft blog, looked quite effective, guess it depends on your pattern though!

any of those useful?

Yes, I am trying to avoid housework/children :D

yes, they are, very very useful actually!!! Especially the thimble one. Brilliant, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for! (Could do with it being the sort of thing you could do a2 size though, but great starting point!

Thank you
