Where can I sell an extraordinary coat I crocheted

I just finished crocheting an amazingly beautiful long coat. I used remnants of different yarns: mohair, wool, lots of novelty yarns and cut up rags.It is an unique piece, work of art, that cannot be repeated or copied,I thoroughly enjoyed creating it and would wear it with pleasure, but some cash will help right now, so decided to sell. It will suit someone with excentric individual style or a collector. However, I do not know where to sell it. I do not think that it will sell on eBay, as I suppose, people will look for vintage or famous brands there. Does anyone have an idea?

Have you looked at [http://www.etsy.com/ Etsy]?

Sorry, don't know why that link didn't work, try again...ETSY

BariatricObama · 16/03/2010 09:29

try folksy too. it is better for uk sales.

Etsy, Folksy, Misi, Dwanda - all places you can sell stuff like that. Etsy is US based and Dwanda is European. The other two are UK based. The fees vary for all of them.

I have tried Etsy before, to sell my felt rugs, but nothing has sold so far.
Will have a look at the other sites too. Have also put it on Ebay for just £180, although has taken me more than a month to knit.
You can now see it in my profile picture and more details on my gallery pics.
Thanks for the tips.

Argh, quick call the police, there's a dead hippy outside your house!

Actually, that coat is beautiful! good luck.

That is a beautiful coat Akiko. I can see why you would want to get the right price and have it bought by the right person. You are very talented!

LOL to Scrudd!

Beautiful coat.

I don't make and sell things, although I'd love to be good enough at something to do so, but I do buy from both Misi and Folksy.

From a buyer's perspective, Misi is easier to search, but I find the quality of items on Folksy is higher and its far more 'art/artisan' based type iyswim.
