MN Mother's Day knitathon?

EffiePerine · 12/03/2010 08:17

(Have also posted this on Ravelry btw)

Had a (poss) bright idea on the way to work this morning - would anyone be up for a MN knitathon/love darg thingy? The idea would be to knit something simple (hat, cardi, blanket) for a pg MNer who wouldn't otherwise get anything handknitted? Am thinking of those who don;t have a stream of mums/aunts/grannies on hand to produce matinee jackets in a vile shade of salmon pink.

I know Mother's Day is on Sunday, so we couldn't get it done by then, but I could post on MN to get a list of knitters and recipients. Would enough people be interested?

Hello, I'll join in. I'm not sure what to make yet, probably a hat, something small as I'm a great procrastinator, but I think it's a lovely idea.

JackBauer · 12/03/2010 19:47

I can't knit but can crochet, so if you stop being so needlist/hookist I'm in

Hats or bootees might work as well. off to chekc on ravelry as well then.

tee4two · 12/03/2010 22:54

i will join you if its something little? I usually run out of steam before i finish.

EffiePerine · 13/03/2010 07:59

Well we might be able to do something - any more volunteers?

Bootees would be lovely - I think I have some nice patterns too.

I'll be in there with something crocheted

DutchOma · 13/03/2010 08:51

I have also posted on Ravelry and would be up for it.

EffiePerine · 13/03/2010 09:22

Thanks DutchOma

I also have a baby blanket I've failed to finish which could go to a good home (crocheted).

Pheebs and tea: are you on ravelry?

I could do something. I knit and crochet, quite obsessively it has to be said, so I can make anything you fancy.

Pheebe · 13/03/2010 11:29

Effie, yep I'm on ravelry as pheebe. Only just signed up and haven't had chance to explore yet though

EffiePerine · 13/03/2010 12:34

Great!

Could those not on ravelry cat me? I'll put a message on the mumsknitters forum as well. Thanks everyone
