Hello, I used to scrapbook tho mainly make cards now, when I got started I bought a kit from QVC they had some great value kits with papers and embellishments etc Alphabets are good so you can write key words on a page and backing papers are ideal to mount photos. I know facebook has some scrapbooking groups where people have uploaded pics of scrapbook pages which could inspire you. pound shops and cheap book shops often have supplies in but you may have suff at home to embellish the pages with e.g. butttons and ribbons (I cut the satin ribbon loops you get inside clothes) Coloured scrapbook paper would be useful - plain could be made more interesting with embellishments and patterned paper wouldnt require as much doing to it. Ebay is a good place to pick up odds and ends tho watching QVC 2-4 on a tuesday is a good place to get ideas as well and they often have videos on their website to support the products to show examples of what you can do with the stuff, great for inspiration!

Its usually quite effective to use the photo as inspiration for the theme e.g. what are the main colours in the pic, my dd often had pink on funnily enough! so a pink theme works well, pics at the seaside could suggest beachy items to decorate, pics in the countryside - flowers and butterflies etc
