It has a one year guarantee but obviously I want it to last. It's so cheap I'm a but wary. Anyone had experience?

I have one and find it very easy to use. Can only use lightweight materials on it. If it's just for occaional use I would get it but if you are serious about sewing go for a more sturdy model.

Ooh thank you.

I only want to sew recreationally really. Would I be able to sew corduroy / denim, for example, do you think?

I have a Janome one in this price range - I would imagine it's of similar standard?

I only use it for occasional shortening of trousers, and it's good enough for that. I like it because it's small so takes up less cupboard space. However, it can't handle thick seams, like jeans for example.

If you're going to be doing anything more involved than occasional alterations I think you need to price up a bit.

Think you might be right. Thank you!
