hi
Could some of you give me some feedback on my idea
Thinking of designing some dolly clothes for baby annabel, baby born that sort of size
Thinking of about £5 a outfit.perhaps the outfit coming in its own little gift bag.

Who are your direct competitors?

£5 is quite reasonable for an outfit, as baby annabel etc are a lot more than that. Yours would probably be better made as well as I wasn't too impressed with the annabel ones.

That's not fair - that's what I am going to do!

Well, not exactly, but my plan is to start using up some of my long term fabric and yarn stash with clothes for Annabell and Baby Born. My dd has outgrown her "babies" and I have sold off most of the clothes and accessories on eBay, but have kept the dolls to use as models. I was planning on making stock to sell just before Christmas.

I reckon you have to come up with something quite distinctive and cute to beat the competition and secondhand branded clothes. As cornetjo says, new Zapf Creations outfits are extortionate.....

I think it's a great idea. I made some for a birthday present last year for one of DS's playgroup friends (a little girl that is) that were aimed at Baby Annabel size.

I was trying to go for the "baby boden" look, sort of colourful flowered baggy trousers and cardigan but not having a doll as a model I had a lot of trouble with sizing.

The stuff in the shops is so pinky and polyestery I'm sure there's room in the market for a few "suppliers". There are a lot of homemade dolls clothes on ebay but most of them make me shudder! When real baby clothes are so cute, too.

I love making dolls clothes, have done ever since I first had my own dolls as a kid. 'Tis only reason I regret not having a DD...and now my nieces are grown up

I look forward with interest, and if any of my ideas actually get off the ground I will let you know.

Some of the homemade clothes which do really well on eBay use "character" fabric - Dora the Explorer, Winnie the Pooh etc. That may be something you would want to look at.

Good luck!
