I want to make some cards with holes that DD and her friends can learn to sew with, using plastic needles, but I'm not sure what age it would be appropriate for . She is only 2.5 but I was wondering if they would be suitable for 3rd birthdays?

I've tried lacing with plastic needles at my arts and crafts toddler group. I'd say 3 was a minimum and some of them will need lots of help. So find for your DD (because you like the idea and will do it with her), but maybe a source of frustration for her friends?

DD had lacing cards from ELC that used brightly coloured laces. That is much easier than using a needle. Then they can progress on to a needle once thay get the hang of that. I don't know where you can source such laces, though......

Cool, thanks for the tips - I'm just keen to get her into sewing asap!
