Does anyone know if a Janome 110 sewing machine would be good?

Seen one advertised for £45 (second hand). As I don't want to spend much I wondered if this would be a good choice? From what I've seen on the net Janome seem to be quite decent quality, just wondered if anyone could advise me? Thanks.

I've got a janome first home machine. It's well built, easy to figure out, reliable, can't fault it really! Most importantly it's simple with not too many programs, I have my mothers all singing all dancing job collecting dust as I can barely thread the thing without being reduced to a wreck!

Hi there - thanks for your reply. I have bought it and am trying to figure out how to get the bobbin to work. It's been a long time since I did any sewing, so I'm a bit rusty! The machine does seem good and solid though so am very pleased.

Janome is a very good make. My domestic machine is still going strong after many years. All parts and accessories seem to be the same as Singer so readily available.

Could you contact Janome and order the book that would have been supplied with your model? Worth getting all the info specific to your model.

Is it called a Star 110?

I don't know about that model, but I love my Janome machine, which is a fairly basic one. The instruction manual (crucial for me as I am hopeless with anything mechanical) is very very clear.
