fourth day of rain looms and we are running out of ideas! i need some vaguely novel crafty things to do with bored 2.5yo. have tried googling but come up with masses of american sites that are unbearably cutesy - am lamentably uncreative myself and not sure what to do beyond the obvious (painting, sticking, playdough, glitter etc)
he likes anything messy, or involving scissors.....

What about the CBeebies site? I think they might have crafty ideas.

Have you got a branch of Wilkinsons near you? I have found some great cheap tat craft kits in there, v inexpensive so no prob if ds doesn't like - making spoon people, painting little wooden train etc, lots of choice and all under a fiver. Failing that my ds loves a saucepan, some veg, a grater and a masher, a jug of water and 'making soup'.

This site has lots of craft activities - easy enough for toddlers as well as slightly older children. Look under newsletters at the side for a full list.

Makingfriends.com -- very good, lots of ideas. It's an American site, though, so lots of US holidays/things as well as things that will translate/cross over to the UK.
