Sentimental about shoes

Hi, my ds is 21 months. Call me sentimental but as yet I haven't been able to bring myself to throw out any of his shoes. Now I'm going to have to do something about it before we end up on 'How Clean is your House' . Does anyone have any craft ideas for using baby shoes? (I'm not wanting to build a monument or anything but I'd like to do something with a few of my favourites. The rest will just have to go in the bin)

tie them all up by the laces or add ribbons to the heals and string them all up in one long line and make a wall hanging out of them.

if they are in reasonable condion other wise i would give them to a charity shop as babies grow out of things so quickly.

photograph them...make a lovely 'crafty' frame...put the photo in it

then...decorate a box beautifully- line it with tissue and place shoes in it.
Write a note 'to your son' about how special he is etc...for him to read everytime he looks in the box...

Tie the box up with ribbon- and put a copy of the photo on the box like a gift tag.

(my boys are 16,13 & 10 and i am still as sentimental about their baby stuff!!! I have a bag of clothes that they ALL wore...the same babygros..worn by ds 1,2 &3 in turn! The same tiny little socks...so i totally understand your feelings!
I also have a bag of baby toys that were again used by all 3... I just love to think that in years to come...all 3 boys will see photoes of them as babies...all in the same babygros...and all playing with the same toys!!! Just got to make sure they also see the photoes os them in different clothes and playing with their own toys!!!!!)

last year i regretfully finally threw out the many 'baby teeth' i had kept...planned to 'treasure' in their baby boxes...but didn't...muddled them up...then after admitting that if i did not know who's was who's...what was the point of keeping them...as i'm sure ds1 would not want ds2's teeth!!!

so i started throwing them away as i find them ...

I've kept quite a few pairs of their shoes that I found it hard to throw away. I love looking at the little ones.

Dh thinks I'm mad. I did use them in an art installation once in a sort of timeline if shoes but then I had to buy loads from a charity shop for that so I ended up with even more.

So I am no help I'm afraid, and mine are 12, 8, and almost 3 so you can imagine how many I have.

My DD uses hers to dress her teddies.

BR that is sweet. unfortunately my DS would just use them for chucking as he is not into anything soft and cuddly.
