Where to buy art stuff?

I'm looking for a website where I can buy paint, glue, paper etc. The only place I have found is the Early Learning Centre and it doesn't seem to have a wide range. We don't have any art shops round here as they have all closed down or moved. I don't drive so really need a decent website.

I do a fair bit of painting for pleasure and just moved into a new area. The local art shop is good but am finding it very expensive. Just been looking online for cheaper materials in the last few days and came across this just by Googling.

Looking at the acrylic paints of the same type that I buy in the local shop I think I could save about 25% by buying online from that site and may well give it a try.

If you want really cheap materials for children we used to use The Works. They have the website that I linked but also High Street stores. Some did shut down recently but there are some still open. They do good cheap kids books and toys too.

Of course normal office supply stores do really cheap A4 paper in packs as well but you would need to get to an out of town retail park to find a Staples or Office World. To be honest buying a ream (500 sheets) of white A4 paper from WH Smiths would stil be very cheap per sheet.

Hobbycraft is great.

How about this one?

It's local to me, so I have had a look at the shop, which seems fine.

Personally, I tend to stock up for the year at the big Hobbycrafts show at the NEC in Birmingham each year. They run two shows, one about March April, the other (which I prefer) about Early-Mid November. Link for those shows, including ticket buying, is www.ichf.co.uk/.

Nefertari do they have good discounts at those shows? I think there is one in Glasgow which would be nearest to me unless they start to have one in Edinburgh. I thought of going but definitely would if there were good deals on as crafting is an expensive hobby!

Have you tried Wilkinsons?

I picked up some canvasses from there for dd2 so I presume they have a range of crafty stuff.

We have The Range near us that does the whole gamut from cheap and cheerful to (to my eye) professional stuff. Not sure how widespread they are though.
