I'd like a (budget) sewing machine - reccomendations please.

Am a complete novice but have an aunt that could teach me, not much of a budget. £50 ish

can you get anything 'ok' for that?

I got mine in lidl for £40 and it was fine

They look nice. I don't know if they're any good though.

ask on freecycle. if you don't like it it can always go back on freecycle.

What you have to consider is wether you want a:
Cheap one - which is cheap because its low quality & won't last so long (like the one I've linked to here)
or
Cheap one - which is cheap because its basic. My Mum recently brought a Pfaff (good make, sturdy) from John Lewis, but for some reason she scrimped and brought the basic model and now has a raubbish selection of stitches and can't do half the things she wants to on it.

The staff in the sewing machine department are normally really helpful at John Lewis for answwering questions & demonstrations.
