Where to order yarn/ wool online?

My local wool shop is a) not very good and b) expensive. Are there any UK websites that have a good selection where can I order nice yet sensibly priced wool online?

I've used both Laughing Hens and Yarn Angels and been pleased with the service from both.

I have used ethknits.co.uk and mcadirect, they both have all the Rowan, Debbie Bliss etc as well as the basic Sirdar type yarns.

www.kempswoolshop.com/ are very well priced. The range is variable and the website a bit clunky but still miles better than my local shop (and much less grumpy!) It is worth signing up to their newsletter as they sometimes have really cheap Rowan sales.

I'll second Kemps wool shop, they often have some great deals on discontinued rowan yarns.

Also cucumber patch have lots of good deals.

I recently ordered from BG Payne Crafts who had the wool i wanted for much cheaper prices than my local shop, and p&p was free for orders over £20. They stock things for lots of different crafts so don't have vast stocks of wool though.

OMG...thanks ChewwyToffeMum and cloudspotter - I just went to Kemps Wool Shop and have just placed a MASSIVE order (for me, anyway). They had loads of great stuff in their clearance, including a pattern I have wanted but couldn't find anywhere locally and the wool needed to knit it was only 99p a ball (instead of £3.45!)

I'm in heaven...that order would have cost £140.00 full price, but got it all for £45, although postage on it all came to £6.99. Still, definitely worth it.

Ooh I love Kemps. Got the tip from ravelry. They are responsible for my ridiculous stash of yarn. Every time dh opens a cupboard or drawer, more yarn falls out. I think he thinks I am a mad hoarding woman or something. Maybe I am?

But it's sooooo cheap, I really must have it. I love it when Rowan discontinue something because I know it will hit Kemps.
