I don't sew in general and am a complete novice, but I managed to make a christmas stocking with fleece material for my DD using a free print off pattern online. It looks okay but I want to put her name on the cuff of the stocking. I thought of making letters by sewing buttons....beads(I don't know how to do beads..sequins..??)...or sewing already made alphabets. What is best thing to do with fleece because I know that you can't use iron on design. If anybody could help me I would appreciate very much. The stocking is pink and the cuff is red and I would like name to be a bit glittery or shiny if you know what I mean. I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

You can get white felt that has a silvery glittery look to it. You could cut out the letters of her name (it won't fray) and then just use a running stitch around the edge to attach it to the cuff

or you can use fabric glue and glue the letters on. I'm a fan of time saving tricks, can you tell?

There are some nice fabric paints (including glittery/shiny/both ones) which 'puff up' to a 3D appearance.

They wouldn't last for ever on fleece, but on a stocking which gets used once a year it should last a fair few years, I would have thought.

I've done it before with thick glitter glue (called Puffy Paint in the U.S., not sure what it is called here).
