Can I make a picture frame?

I have a beautiful photo of my mum & dd and having looked for a lovely frame & found nothing Ive been thinking about making one with dd. It needs to be simple-both in style and to make. The photo is very colourful-an autumn day in the forest so very orangy and dd is only 18 months so can't be too complicated.

I was thinking of something paper mâché but have jo idea how I'd do it. Any advice?

TIA.

I have a tutorial on my blog for making some simple fridge frames out of cardboard packaging, though this may be too simple for your needs. I have seen papier mache ones where you start with a card frame, add newspaper strips, and then prime and paint - (ultimately I will add a tutorial for those too)and which are a little more substantial.
The link for the fridge frames if you are interested is here
