Making Fridge Magnets

Which modelling clay would work for making fridge magnets? I was hoping to be able to do it in one session, the modelling, attaching the magnet and painting, but I'm not sure if there is a clay/substance that would work. Do it have to dry out before painting?

Can anyone advise?
