Well done! I have yet to experience the airfix kit - but give me a couple of years and I'll be having a go!!!

Used to do loads when I was a kid!

Now have two sons and an airfix mad dh so sure I will doing lots more when they're older!

Did you watch James May's programme on airfix?

displayuntilbestbefore · 08/11/2009 11:14

No, but a friend said we should have watched it (not helpful after the event!)
Will have to see if it's on again....I have sons too so am looking forward to all the kit-making and can openly admit to enjoying helping ds with building lego vehicles! Roll on superglue-time, though!

when was the James May programme on?

southeastastra · 08/11/2009 11:16

i didn't see it either. it does look good if i say so myself (titanic) but have to paint it now. and ds wants to 'help' argh he will ruin my masterpiece .

couldn't you get another one and do that for him to paint, so you could keep your materpiece and get it put into a large glass bottle for display? Isn't that what makers of model boats do with their creations?

spongebrainbigpants · 08/11/2009 12:43

James May was on 27th October.

Lol at DS helping - I used to struggle with that too when I joined in with craft lessons when I was a teacher and my kids wanted to finish off my work for me!!

southeastastra · 08/11/2009 16:29

it looks lovely now i've painted it but ds wants to play with it!

want to do another one

Noooooooo!

You must display it in a presentation case - it's not to play with!

displayuntilbestbefore · 08/11/2009 18:24

Play with it? Sheesh, does he not realise the effort and time you've invested in it?!!

displayuntilbestbefore · 08/11/2009 18:25

Thanks spongebrain for the date of the programme - will have to watch that.
