Hand embroidered/made stockings...do you think these are naff?

I had one from accessorize a few years ago, for ds1...since then been unable to find another nice, stretchy, knitted one anywhere.

So i thought I'd make one in a similar style.

What do you think? Is it really naff? I enjoyed doing it - cut up an old jumper, used some scraps of felted wool and applique, some old braid etc.

It was great fun! I have a feeling however that the boys will grow out of them in a few years and refuse to use them as they are too girly!!

The one I made is the creamy one...I embroidered the P on the other one with a ribbon as it didn't seem fair to have one initialled and one not.

Sounds lovely. I bet they will become a family heirloom.

We all have handmade Xmas stockings (made my me, though my mum made mine) with cross-stitch embroidery across the top. Think it's a lovely idea. My DS8 still loves his.
