Has anyone used old printers blocks as stamps for fabric/paper?

I've been offered a couple of trays of old printers blocks (letters and numbers, a few old logos) and I'm thinking that I could do some nice stamps with fabric paint (cushion covers with dates on or something), but I don't know whether the blocks work very well as stamps in the traditional sense, or if they work best with a proper printing press.

Anyone used them?

I haven't used printers blocks, but have jused those indian wood stamps.

It is probably worth taking them and trying.
You could always try to replicate the pressure of a press with a wooden board on top and roll a rolling pin over it while pushing down hard. If that makes sense.
