Thinking of going for the first time before it closes on Sunday. Has anyone been (this year or previously)and is it any good?

I went a few years ago, it was fascinating, but had kids in tow so I couldn't concentrate properly. Don't take the kids!

went yesterday (sunday) to last day of first week. Different exhihitors this week. Lots of jewellery, ceramics and some more unusual stuff. found it very uplifting - people are so enthusiastic and dedicated and put in so much work - and we did buy a couple of things.

is this the old chelsea crafts fair?

maggiethecat · 12/10/2009 21:16

not sure but you can go on the crafts council website to see some of the stuff.

lucy, looked at one person's website and a knitted hot water bottle cover was 40 quid! did you find things reasonably priced generally?

Depends what you are judging against I guess - obviously not mass produced high st prices. Good value given effort put in and uniqueness of many pieces but in no way cheap

I know that and this is why I'm attracted to the fair for the skill and effort spent and the uniqueness of the products. I suppose the reaction to the hot water bottle cover is influenced by knowing that I could knit it myself. Can't say the same about some of the yummy pieces of jewellery on the website.

What is the URL for the Craft Council fair please? Is Somerset House the one in London?
