Anyone done needle felting with little ones?

I think my 6yo and 4.5yo would be capable of this - they are very sensible and able girls - but all the kits say 'not suitable for under 10s'. Now I understand they have to say that, but am I being realistic in thinking they'd be able to do this?

I'm also concerned about the patience level, but I'm happy to finish things for them that they start if they get bored. How long does it take to needle felt something small?

i've recently taken up needle felting and have stabbed myself multiple time with the ferocious looking needle - obviously you know your girls and what they are capaple of but personally i wouldn't trust my {clumsy} 15yr old not to hurt herself!

At this age I would stick to using safe plastic needle sewing kits. There are plenty of felt puppets, teddies, cushions etc available from
