More Knitting Questions! Again!

Ok, here are my new questions, for the other knitters out there:

  1. Do you buy yarn for a specific project, or do you sometimes just buy yarn because it looks interesting? (If I do the former, I can't work out which project it was for. And the latter ... well, I have a good collection of random yarn I don't know what I make with. Particularly hemp. Hemp is weird.)

  2. What is the best way to weave in ends invisibly? I want it on the reverse st stitch presumably, going under the bumps? Do I weave the end in a straight line? Or what?

  3. How many projects do you normally have on the go at one time?

Oh, I finally took the blanket to a "knitting doctor" at a local fair. Who said ... "hmm, no idea what you've done there. I'd just cut the loop, sew in the ends and pretend it never happened". Which is what I did, and it looks ok. I can find the error, but only on the reverse ss side.

But I've finished the blanket now! My first actual finished project that isn't an intarsia wrist warmer.

I really must finish that sweater now ...

And the scarf ...

congratulations, nqc!

I find knitting brings out the perfectionist in me. I spend hours reknitting stuff because I haven't decreased right, or something-stuff that really, no one else would notice. I think because its my hobby, and if i am going to do it I want to get it right.

I'm sat here, baby asleep, casting off a stripy rainbow vest for a 2 year old that has taken MONTHS.

Anyway, must be great to have it finished!
