Homemade keepsake ideas for me old dad who?s turning sixty...

I usually make fancy-pants embroideries for family members? on their special birthdays but I haven?t left myself enough time. I thought I could make him a lovely card that could then be framed but I?m lacking inspiration.

I have lots of felt, some nice pieces of fabric, tons of embroidery threads left over from various cross stitch kits...

Any ideas?

How about taking your dad's picture and sticking to it some threads (hair), felt (e.g. hat or trousers).
I love cross stitching but with two little kids have not got time for it.
