What sort of thread do you use to make bead bracelets/necklaces for small girls?

DD's party is this weekend and we have got some beads for necklace/bracelet making. What sort of thread/elastic do you use and where can you get it from please? Are there likely to be suitable things in Hobbycraft?

Thank you

Narrow, round elastic which has a good stretch in it but is still strong. Make sure an adult is around to tie knots (check knots) and they should last. I've done this with my DCs. Hobbycraft should sell it by the metre, if not, a haberdashers, or somewhere like Dunelm.

hobbycraft do a thread especially for this....it breaks if it gets caught in anything so is safe for the kids...Not sure of the name but they do sell it in rolls in the childrens craft section

'Crystal string' beading elastic. It's clear and practically unbreakable.
