Only on the beach with sand and shells and seaweed ...

I have made a mermaid dress for a rag doll. It was very simple, halter neck top in a gold material, with a blue skirt cut with a large triangle at the bottom which I then folded up to make two smaller triangles for the mermaid's tail. The rag doll had quite fat feet and each foot fitted into one triangle of the mermaid's tail.

Sorry I don't have a photo.

Have you ever wondered how exactly mermaids make other mermaids? I assume there are mermen involved at some point...

drinkyourmilk · 05/09/2009 12:44

i was thinking that trillion - but more about HOW they come out?

TrillianAstra · 05/09/2009 12:46

There's nowhere for mer-sperm to go in or for mer-babies to come out.

Maybe it's like frogs, they have a tiny hole to release eggs, external fertilization, and then mer-babies grow in a see-through sac like a tadpole does.

Maybe the mermen give birth, a bit like male sea horses.

TrillianAstra · 05/09/2009 12:53

But they don't have any appropriate holes either...
