Anyone make their own pushchair liners?

Advice please.
*What padding do you use? I have made one with polyester wadding which I had for quilting but am a bit worried as the only things holding all three layers together are the binding and the slots for straps and crotch strap which are done in machined buttonholing. Will it drift apart with washing?
*How much buttonholing do slots need? I have made the stitches quite wide and dense but noticed that maclaren liners have barely any stitching around the openings. Are they bonded at the edges with heat do you think?
*The one I made scrunches up when DD is sitting and squirming around. Not sure if this is a design flaw. Might contemplate quilting a layer one any subsequent ones-opinions?

i use polyester wadding (4oz usually)- but i tend to sew a seam where the liner needs to bend iyswim- so at the join between the back and the seat- i machine-buttonhole the openings and then sew a second single stitch around that about 1cm out- just gives it a little more security. did you sew the layers together before putting the binding on? i should think it'd be ok as far as washing but if its for a seated bugger like a mac an extra seam would stop any wadding drifting and may help with the squirming situation- also did you re-enforce the fabric- it may not be strong enough to withold a wriggler- i use the iron on stiffener stuff if i need to.

Oh right. Yes sewing a seam at bends is a good idea.
I didn't sew layers together. Basically I followed a quilt making routine except I didn't even pin all three layers before binding edges. And I didn't quilt obviously.
Hmm yes I have some iron on stuff.
