How to hang a throw?

I've recently bought a lovely patchwork throw which I want to hang in my hall. I was wondering the best way to do this. Had thought of some sort of bulldog clip things along the top but no idea if this is best or where to get them. Obviously I don't want to use bulldog clips but is there an arty crafty alternative?

what i've seen done is some wide pieces of material added as loops to the quilt and then dowling threaded through and then hung as you would a picture.

I used a natural seam at one end of a smallish hanging to push a bamboo stick thru. Knocked two nails into the wall and placed either end to position.

The best way to display quilts is to carefully sew a tube of fabric onto the top seam on the back. Make sure you don't just sew onto the backing if possible.

My quilts are hung on metal net curtain rods - they look really neat that way

I put up an indian throw by sewing loops along the top edge and threading through dowling - as paranoid said. And some day i'll do the same along the bottom to make it hang straighter
