mad hatter costume ideas

Help please! Ds1 is having a mad hatter tea party at nursery & they've been asked to dress up in a crazy, outgoing & wild outfit.

I want to make something on the cheap, but am useless at coming up with ideas! I've got a pattern for a hat, any thoughts on the rest?

Make a tunic out of crepe paper (handsew together on shoulders and then put a scarf around the waist). Or get a white bin-liner (pedal bin size), cut holes for arms and head then decorate with permanent markers or stick on cut out paper shapes.
