As I type this it sounds stupid but do you need to put salt in salt dough?

btw the salt stops it going mouldy.

I thought that too floaty but it would appear not.

We are making some things from this book It suggests dissolving the salt into the water before adding flour and oil. Apparantly that makes it smoother. Dissolving rock salt is not easy! We have heated it and are now waiting for it to cool down, although will it not all solidify then. (There is a reason I do not teach science)

Well we have made her some letters for her door and a tea set.
