Wedding dilemma - please can someone help?????

I'm doing the order of service and wedding menus for some friend's wedding next month. I sent them off a load of samples, which they are really pleased with (thank goodness) but I have hit a small wall. They wanted it quite fussy and it really detracted from the wording so I suggested just having the wording with either printing it on textured paper for a bit of interest or embossing the paper at the bottom. I included an example of the embossing using something from my Sizzix (the free acorn leaves you get with the converter at the mo)and they have set their hearts on having that at the bottom. Only problem is I can't get A5 and A4 paper into the Sizzix to emboss it. Has anyone got any ideas, PLEEEEEEAAAASSSE. (I do have a friend who has the Fiskars Shape Boss, which she said she would post down to me if needed but I'm not sure what designs it does).

The shapeboss is simple a "Fiskars" specialised dry embossing system, it is different in the fact that you have two stencils(template) that are pegged onto a board and you put you paper/card in between to emboss them. There are various templates that you can buy.

How about trying to buy an ordinary, brass stencil and dry embossing that way. If you haven't a lightbox (I haven't!) You are suppose to be able to use a glass pyrex dish, torch or light sorce underneath, hold it up against a window...

I haven't got a light box but they had one on sale for £4 in the local craft shop the other day. Where is the best place to get some brass stencils from? Does anyone know anywhere good online?

Ok I was goimg to say you could have had mine but my friend said they had come down in price, brass stencils are in most craft shops I was just looking in my stencil box at the long thin ones & I've only got geese, rocking horses or grapes on a vine nothing weddingy

how long have you got before you have to start the cards

I was going to give you a site I use all the time in the USA through ebay and you need a Paypal account but they take a week to come You would be cutting it a bit fine. I'm sorry I'm not much help

If you haven't got anything by Friday I'm going to Brimstage Hall on the Wirral I can have a look there If I buy a brass stencil and you don't need it it won't go to waste I will be able to use it

Could you let me know about the american site anyway please. I'm going to try and put her off until the week after. Also, is it ok to CAT you on Thursday if I am still stuck. I can email a photo of the stencil I have for the Sizzix so you know roughly what she is looking for....

how about stenciling some vellum with the sizzix and putting it at the bottom. could work with paper/card too.
or you could make a panel for the middle and sizzix stencil it.

OK no laughing well, you can a little bit but what does CAT you mean?
I've got that stencil I got it free with the converter.

The USA site I use, charges about $9 for posting last month the dollars was good for us it's now about £1.89 to the $, so I'd say that?s about £5.50 for posting, still good. It takes about a week to arrive
You save your money on the stencils, stencils that are £5 or more UK are about $5 or $6 USA

I usually order about 10 or 15 stencils to make it pay, if you could group together & ordered a load you could really make it pay, I?m about to order some more at the end of the month, anyway I digress.

I bought a new A4, flat, sit with it on your knee, light box a couple of weeks ago it was an offer in my mag £39.99, no P&P if you quote the mag number, it doesn?t get hot & the bulb is guaranteed for 10 or 15 years.
So if someone wants a swap on the old one, they?re welcome. But as you say you can pick them up for about £4.00 now.

Forgot to tell you you can also use something call dreamweave paste it's a bit messy but it's great to use with your stencils, she has it on her site half the UK price, it comes in white gold or silver if you want to know how to use it I can go into more detail she also sent me free of charge a little spatula to spread to spread the paste you just need a stencil, paste, spatula & masking tape

Can't you make your own stencil out of card to use? I've done this before successfully.

Found 2 stencils to choose from. £1.99 & 70p P&P each
Ebay 8191669677 & 8191670283 ones flowers the other one ivy leaves. There may be more on her site. Can recommend it, it's a UK site I have in my favourites. The USA site is OK if you're going to buy loads

I know, you can see why you end up buying loads. Are the other 2 UK suggestions any good
