Debbie Bliss merino aran which I'm told is discontinued. I'm not a particularly experienced knitter so any help with what type of wool would be a good alternative would be fab. (Especially if slightly cheaper than Ms Bliss' version ).

Ta!

is this any help? Best thing to do is if you have a local wool shop ask them or have a search on the internet for them putting in the % of what type you want eg: 100% merino wool or 50% merino 50% aran or similar.

these people have always been helpful when i've emailed and try a few knitting forums to just in case

Thank you! I was afraid I was going to be sad and ignored but that is brilliant advice. Cheers!

Has it changed its name to Cashmerino Aran?.

80sMum · 06/06/2009 16:46

Or there's also this on. Rialto Aran

Cashmerino Aran is wool, microfibre and cashmere. Merino Aran is just merino.

Rialto Aran would probably be the best match but any aran weight wool/wool mix would do.

Have a look at www.yarndex.com too.
