Hi,

I've been looking for a couple of those fabric doorstops for my french doors but the ones I like are so expensive.

Any ideas how to make one for someone who isn't that good at sewing?

Thanks

Oh I love the square ones.

That's just what I was looking for.

Not very practical in the sewing department either but I'm willing to try.

I love them too, thanks, I'm going to have a go.

If you subscribe to Sew Hip this month you get a free Clothkits pattern and fabric for a doorstop. I've literally just opened the envelope and out it fell. Looks v simple. It's a green fabric with apples printed on it - quite sixties/seventies feel to it. Would you like it?

snickersnack · 05/06/2009 22:15

It's just like the square ones, except a bit more tapered towards the top.

making these is really simple so give it a go...
or...
you can do what my friend did
get a brick
cover in wadding
wrap in fabric and stick with sewsimple or other glue suitable for fabric!

MaggsS · 06/06/2009 09:47

Oh that sounds great snickersnack. Don't you want to make it yourself?

Have done!

My mum made me one from a brick covered with canvas work, on plastic canvas.
