Toddler garden art?

DD has recently painted a plastic garden trough and a large plastic flower pot with a poster paint/PVA mix. I'm enjoying seeing a bit of toddler art out in the garden (though not sure how long before these artistic efforts will last before being destroyed by the weather!)

Any ideas of other toddler-art projects for displaying out in the garden?

Anyone? Really simple ideas very welcome. I'm rubbish at all this arts and crafts stuff, but like to try and give DD a chance to get creative!

....on a sheet of MDF and nailed to the fence. I know you can buy them but nice to make them too....

Now,pictures on MDF is an idea. Should poster paint with PVA varnish work? Used it on pots, just want to make sure it is all toddler - proof materials! (have to convince DH now )

Those big canvases covered with clear sticky backed plastic, they don't last a lifetime can last a couple of years in a sheltered position.

We have a wall and give the DSs chalk to scribble on them with, and also do painting outdoors on it. We use a big roll of paper from Ikea and stick up really big long pieces - I like that they can do it much BIGGER than indoors.

You could also get your dd to paint a bird box or a bird table or summat like that (ie buy a plain one from B&Q and paint it).

Mobiles made of collected objects? Shells are good, but you could use pine cones, acorns, anything really - drill holes in them (you obviously, not dd) and then string them in lines tied to a coathangar or a couple of sticks and hang up where teh wind can catch them.

Flowerpot men?

What sort of canvasses are those? Do you mean any old canvas plus sticky back plastic or is it a special kind of canvas you can get with sticky back plastic? Sorry to sound dim

Ooh, liking some of the 3 dimensional ideas too. A scarecrow could be really cool!

Empty jam jars painted with glass paint and hung up in trees (with tealights inside)

Or hand and feet prints using acryclics and a section of patio / paving. It will be weather proof but can be scrubbed off later.

Just the bank ones you get in Dunelm Mill, Hobby craft etc. You can use gaffer tape at the back along the end of the SBP to make it even more water tight.

Another idea would be air dry clay to make a sculpture, which I reckon you could paint and varnish.

My dd made me a coat hanger mobile with loads of coloured buttons and pipe cleaners, it hangs on a hanging basket bracket in the winter, and though it's slightly faded its lasted four years.

If you've got paving slabs & you're game, they are a great surface for chalk art or games (hopscotch etc).
